That means, see you again Christchurch.
The internet here sucks.
And it’s putting me off my writing and blogging and posting my pictures. But I’m attempting to stay cool, nevertheless.
Anyways, I had a great time while I was away. It’s been a super fat holiday, though, but I guess I don’t really care right now. Hehee. I stopped posting because every single day was kind of routine to be honest. I had fun, though, going around the city everyday, getting lost and getting to know the streets. And not to mention grocery shopping almost every day! It was just wonderfully wonderful! We were also blessed with some good weather, though sometimes it was way too cold to bear. We even got to see hujan batu once! That was pretty scary, but exciting all the same, hehe.
Towards the end of the third week, it got pretty boring though, and we just couldn’t wait for the boys to arrive. We couldn’t wait to show them around the city and stuff like that. And we sure did have a blast when they came. The weather was great too, when they arrived, so the drive to the airport wasn’t a nightmare, even if it was only 15 minutes from the city centre.
We went to Akaroa the weekend the boys arrived, but decided against the Black Cat Cruise, which would bring us around the island to see some dolphins, should they decide to emerge out of the water for a peek. I’m glad we didn’t go, really, because the weather was pretty nasty that day. It was raining and the gusty wind didn’t help contain whatever warmth we needed. So after the tiring 2 hour drive, we headed home to spend the day at the city.
The next place we visited the following week was Kaikoura, where the main attraction is whale watching. The weather was wonderful, but we had to hire a helicopter to view the whales from above. After much consideration, we didn’t take the helicopter either. But we were blessed to witness the seal colony flocking and showing off. I wish I had brought extra clothes so that I could swim near enough to them to see what they really are all about. But never mind, I had a great time nevertheless.
The last days in Christchurch was spent going around the city, showing all that we knew to the boys. With them around we had to go grocery shopping like everyday! Haha. We ran out of juice and milk and chocolates on a daily basis. But it was nice though. At last the frigde was empty! Huhu. The last few days was pretty emotional though. I guess I’ve never been to a place where I stayed for such a long period, and lived their lifestyle. This is definitely more than a mere visit, that’s for sure.
Anyways, I think words fail me. Might as well view the pictures for yourself, okay? Though what’s posted would only be a fraction, as there are HUNDREDS, thanks to the camera freako here.
Other than the wet weather here at home, I’m having a super fat holiday all the same! Enjoy the remaining people!
